Public Preview For Prologue

Not sure if Linux one works, it automatically creates windows,mac and linux all three. I have no way of checking if anything other than windows works.

Credits are not included in this one. (More like someone forgot and was too lazy to go back and add them.) My apologies.

I'll adress the summarized credits here in one line.
-All Worlds of Haruhi Suzumiya members-

Genuine and fully detailed credits will be at the next demo release. However, big thank you goes to creators of Ren'py engine. Without it, this would be not possible.

I'm fully aware of issues with visuals. Examples of it being bad transition between images on some points, unclean background picture, and unfavourable layouts of the menu and not to mention default ingame and exit menus.

Still, this demo shows how much we have done so far. I think this version of the prologue looks better than ok compared to how it looked before.

Here goes my short report:

A few things that could be improved on is the skip mode. The ctrl button's skip mode doesn't work as well as the old one where it just skips everything from voice to screen transition. So I myself would like it if the same function's applied to future releases. If people want the auto-read function, have them set up themselves in the menu, cause for all VNs I've played the ctrl button skips everything until it's let go off.

Other stuffs are like the buttons for save, pref etc. How about embedding them onto the top of the text box and giving them a different color scheme/icon? Like for example the save button's red while the load button's blue. The current ones look, well...ugly

Other than that, looking great, we're finally on the right track

btw, is this supposed to be blank? (also I can make the name box separately, no need to use a resized version of the main one )


btw #2: haruhi's name should appear in the box when she introduces her self, not after that imho

Trying to find out how to do that. I'm trying to learn python from a scratch so maybe one day I'll get it right.

kk, I'll fix that. As for the 2nd box, I don't know how to make them look seperate. Maybe I'll find out as I learn.
Another idea is making a box that looks great either resized or not.

Good work so far! I can't wait to see the finished version of this game.. I noticed that voices are hard to hear with the loud music unless you lower the music.

Oh, another thing. When I played the not-so-public preview, I noticed the slap sound was very loud. Painfully so. I was playing with earphones in, and suddenly, BAM, I got slapped in the eardrums. :P And if the menu has music, perhaps it ought to be the more sedate piano pieces? *I do have a reason for wanting that, even if its quite a silly reason*

In terms of the slapping, or the piano music? :P I assure you, I'd rather have sedate piano music softly wafting from my speakers if I have to go afk for a while, rather than suddenly having the menu music suddenly switch to something like 'Kotoko: Princess Bride'. Much as I enjoy the song, other family members find it vastly annoying, and I find it vaguely embarassing.

Most of those errors I am already aware of. I couldn't change the texts in the vn though as voices were already recorded. As for the adding music in the menu, unless something better comes up, I'll add piano version of either Bouken DeshoDesho or Hare Hare Yukai. I agree with no vocal tracks. I'm planning to add Alan's profile picture on the bottom left corner as soon as we get it drawn.

The piano music that plays after the last episode of Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi is done, and when it shows a picture of Haruhi's face is a nice one.

Although it only lasts for about 20 seconds...

A glitch I noticed. You pretty much have unlimited save slots if you go to Save or Load game. By going to page 8, and clicking next for ages, I got to slot 1110. Was this intended? xD

First of, welcome, secondly, grab the unofficial beta demo here (It's almost identical to the official version so it doesn't really matter), and thirdly, download renp'y for mac here
